Summary

In this course, we will first define what we call adoption and the link with digital learning.

Adoption is being able to say that a user is using a system, application, or performing a task as it was intended and in the best way possible. That is to say in the most efficient and productive way without requesting support or making input errors. It is therefore a question of using your system well.

We also sometimes speak of appropriation. This is the next step which consists in also appropriating the business process which is supported by the system. Indeed, a business process such as a purchase request involves several steps to enter. The link with e-learning training therefore appears: all these systems are not intuitive, either because from an ergonomic point of view it is not completely user friendly, or because there is a need to guide in the screens to learn how to use the tool. It can also be linked to the maturity of the users, some having more ease than others with digital.

Adoption thus goes through a first step of user training because a well-used tool is more likely to be adopted.
